When needed, this card, and this fruit, will help you to keep your "wits" about you, help to keep you focused when a decision needs to be made. No that today the Rowan protects you so clear thinking is the forecast for today.

I love this card, it's one of my favorite. The Phagos card refers to old knowledge or old writing. Today we should look to the knowledge of yesterday to decide what is best to do today. If we are having issues, how would it have been handled previously. What experience can we draw from to help us make the best of what is happening today. What a great card. A day of meditation, questions of our ancestors and the spirits of those who lived before us.

The Nuin card represents the Ash tree or the World Tree. Norse mythology sees it as the Tree of Odin or Woden who hung from it in order to gain enlightenment in the secrets of Runes. This tree is said to connect the realms as it is seen to span all of the universe with it's roots in hell and it's branches supporting the heavens. The lends to the interpretation of past, present and future for this tree and this card. 

The winged fruits of this tree are also known as keys, keys to all things being connected, to knowledge of the earthly and the spiritual. This reminds you that all you do affects the world in more ways then you realize. Each decision you make and task you perform has a potential ripple effect on the universe and everything in it. Wow what a couple of weeks!

Ok so... weekend before last, I came home from having way to much fun at the SCA event only to find that someone had broken into my house and stolen my laptop computer. My only computer. My entire life. Well, it gets even better. We all know about backing everything up, right? Well, of course I backed everything up on a not to cheap external hard drive like a good little witch and guess what. They took that too. I could not believe it. Not only that they took my mouse and my cord too. Strange things is, they did not touch the other laptop sitting on the table 4 feet away, the 42" television, the xbox 360, or the small amount of cash sitting on the table. Hmm. Well anyway...

Due to the stolen lap top, there will be no newsletter for September. I have, after a week of work, searching, calling, tech supporting, grumbling, grrring, and kicking, manage to replace my laptop, find all of the necessary programs, reconnect my computer to my store, and download the site from the servers so that I am back in business... Yay!!! And off we go!!!

Earthstar Mist: The scent that inspired the brand name.  This formula was originally intended to be a more intense version of Ranger Juice, but turned into something else along the way.  This complex formula of over 5 different plants brings a soothing vetiver-like scent (without actually having any vetiver in it) that is very grounding and cleansing.  It was noted as a favorite by friends in Thousand Oaks, CA.***out of stock***Mountain’s Song: This variation of Chumash Wilderness adds Ponderosa Pine and Douglas Fir to sweep the beautiful scent to higher elevations for a grounding but invigorating experience.
Super Cedar: It was a simple premise: combine the incredible scent of Incense-Cedar with the spicy, classic scent of Atlas Cedar.  The result was so profound that it well earned the alliterative name of the Super Cedar formula.
Calocedrus Lavendula: By chance, this formula that combines English Lavender and California Incense-Cedar turned out to be a wonderful aromatherapy tool.

Salinan Trader – Up north, east of Big Sur, are the beautiful San Lucia Mountains, its foothills, and eventually Salinas Valley.  In the beautiful foothills is a gorgeous Oak Woodland environment that is absolutely filled with aromatic plants that were traditionally used by native peoples in their medicines and ceremonies.  So valued were these plants, it is said that cultures up to a month’s journey distance came to trade for them.  In respectful tribute and glorious celebration of nature’s bounty, Salinan Trader takes some of the most aromatic plants in the area and combines them into a soothing and gentle smoke. Of note are Chamise, Black Sage, and Wooly Yerba Santa.
A Touch of Gray – A personal interest, the many varieties of sage that grow in California are beautiful, and offer an array of scents.  Blended together, they offer a wonderfully spicy and earthy smoke.  Included are the two native Gray Sages (Salvia Leucophylla and Salvia Clevelandii), White Sage (Salvia Apiana), Black Sage (Salvia Mellifera), Santa Rosa Sage (Salvia Brandigees), Munz’s Sage (Salvia Munzii), and Hummingbird or Pitcher Sage (Salvia Spathacea).
Coniferoust - These ancient and beautifully stalwart plants have been around for millions of years, and may be considered a massive success in survival.  California offers many varieties in its forests, with sweet, piny and cedarous aromas.  This smoke tends to relate favorably to many a woodlands campfire.  This blend can vary based on the season and availability of needles, but always from California native conifers.

California Sagebrush is another identifying smell of the California Chaparral, with its sagey, piney scent. While not a true sage, this California classic, along with other sagebrushes, was so distinctive with its pale green-gray foliage, aromatic and medicinal properties that it earned an honorary sage mention in its common name classification. Artemisia Californica offers a lovely, complex smoke that is so identifying with the rugged beauty of California’s Sage Scrub.
Hummingbird Sage, sometimes called Pitcher Sage, is a common resident of Southern California’s Oak Woodland habitats. Salvia Spathacea often makes itself home under the shade of oak trees. Surprisingly rugged and tolerant for its jade green foliage and big, bright flowers, it often forms colonies that spread by underground stems, called rhizomes. The foliage’s spicy yet fruity aroma is mirrored by an even spicier fruity smoke. This is an often overlooked jewel of the California Oak Woodlands.
